Old Age Home Visit 2009
Sometimes it is essential to look farther than just education and schools. This is not just a means to help the other people but also a good source of building awareness about the trust elsewhere. The more we reach out to the outside world, the more we grow.
Our visit to Vijaya Old Age Home was on the 8th of March 2009, the day Arichuvadi trust was completing its third year successfully. We were a group of 10 Arichuvadi members/volunteers who visited the old age home, provided them with some basic amenities like oil, soap, biscuits, towel and other small things satisfying their daily needs. They were in immense pleasure to receive these items and we could see their happiness exceeding no bounds in meeting all of us. They felt like their own kids have come to see them. There were a lot of old women and men who could hardly move/talk/see, but still they took all pains to bless us and speak a few words to us. We thanked the organization for the warm welcome they provided to all our members and we hope to extend help to such organizations in future.
We still continue to focus on helping students of schools in rural villages get a better standard of education, not deviating from our goals. However a step outside our goal in helping these old people is very essential, FOR, they are the parents without whom we would not be where we are TODAY!!
